2. Describe/define what the term “Xeriscape” means.

Xeriscaping and xerogardening refers to landscaping and gardening in ways that reduce or eliminate the need for supplemental irrigation.

3. What part does shade play in water resource management and human comfort?

water resource- forest improve our air, protect our water, save energy, and improve economic sustainability.
human comfort- it give shade on hot days in the summer, gives you a sence of privacy

4. How can it be incorporated into landscape design efficiently?

pick a tree that is easy to maintain, make sure that it fits the aree that you are look at


5. When is it appropriate to provide shade and when is it not appropriate?

its only appropriate to plant tree's, is whaen you dont have any. if you plant to many the property will become over grown.

6. list the criteria that should be followed when selecting plant material for a site.

Select trees, shrubs and groundcovers based on their adaptability to your region's soil and climate.
